2023 Patio Refresh w/ AllModern

This Spring makes one year since we’ve given the patio a makeover in partnership with AllModern! While we loved everything, I wanted to make a few minor changes to the space for 2023. The changes included a new area rug, multifunctional stools, and new modern planters.

The goal for this patio refresh was to go for a more monochromatic look that didn’t steal the attention away from the open content living/dining area. Since the patio is just off the living area, the black rug from last year used to draw your eyes to the outdoors first, and that wasn’t what I wanted. I went with this White & Charcoal Xavier Rug to bring a sense of lightness to the patio!

In addition to the new rug, I knew I’d eventually swap out the white poufs for a more substantial and better-quality seating option for guests. I found these very modern and edgy Athens Patio Bar Stools; they have storage and sit at the perfect height! When I saw them, I knew they were the best fit for my patio. I love that the wooden top/seat lends a great deal of warmth to the patio and closes in the patio to create the perfect intimate conversation area around the fire pit.

The final change I made to the patio was getting actual planters that were better suited for outdoors. Before, I had a couple of ceramic planters on the patio and quickly realized that I needed those planters for my indoor plants; I found this super affordable set of Pure Series Planters in the largest size. I love how minimal and modern they are, and they help soften this overall space's clean lines! And these planters are treated with UV inhibitors to prevent fading over time -which is amazing because my planters sit in full sun all day.

The Pure Series Planter is now the home for this lovely Evergreen tree.

But that is the bulk of the patio updates for now! In the near future I plan to add more plants and some outdoor curtains for a bit of privacy. While retractable shade would be ideal, I’m a renter so I’m cautious about over investing in things that I won’t be able to use in the next place.
