One Room Challenge Fall 2021 | Week 6 |

We are less than two weeks away from the big One Room Challenge reveal and I’m nervous and excited! I’m excited because the room has been painted and the lighting has been installed. But I’m nervous because I still need to order bedside lamps, nightstands and an area rug and a few other thing. -I won’t let this worry me, though.

The new paint color has a slight green undertone whereas before, the paint color has a blue undertone.

The color I chose was ‘Shade’ gifted to me by Clare Paint. As you can see, the paint job turned out nice, but I’m not absolutely in love with the color (yet). The reasoning behind my hesitation to love the paint color is the fact that I chose an eggshell finish and I’m usually choosing a flat finish. I know you’re side eyeing me right now but hear me out!

I personally love a flat finish for a bedroom because it doesn’t reflect any light and creates this richer vibe, whereas the eggshell finish bounced light around and highlighted the textured walls. The main drawback of using a flat finish is the fact that you can’t “clean” the walls without leaving some marking or signs of wiping, but I’m not hard on my walls. I can say that I never touch the walls with my hands or other objects. Let’s just say that I was yelled at enough about touching walls with messy hands as a kid that I wouldn’t dare try that as an adult. And second thought, why are people touching the walls in the first place? *BLANK STARE*

Check out some of the painting process in my IG Story Highlights.

When I look at this Revolve chandelier (gifted by Alora Lighting), my heart melts! When I chose this fixture, I thought it would feel a bit glamourous in my space. So I opted to change the paint color to a more masculine hue to offset the amount of softness and femininity that it brought to the space.

I chose the 33” option and it has an overall dropdown length of 16.5”, which is the perfect length to make an impact on the space without interrupting the sightlines to the TV from the bed. Those little details matter people!

As for nightstands, the ones that were in my initial plans are now on backorder until January. So I may just settle for in-stock options, which isn’t the end of the world. The ones I’m thinking about are these CB2 nightstands below. Let me know what you think about them.

I’m sure you are tired of hearing this but the lamps that I was in love with are also backordered and I can’t seem to find any options that I love as much as I did the initial ones. -These delay are no joke, but neither am I! I’ll remain optimistic about the lamp search, I’m sure I’ll find something good.

On that note, I’m signing off because I need to head to Michael’s to inquire about getting my Gee Horton artwork frames to place in the bedroom and stop by HomeGoods to take a look at their run inventory. But remember to connect with me on IG for real-time project updates!
